Cleanliness is next to . . .

We are able to use the libraries as community outreach centers for our team, but it is our dream that long after we are gone, these libraries will continue to serve their community’s needs. With each of the four libraries, Alfredo has connected us with the community health centers in their areas. Health education is important anywhere, and I think that we take many health lessons for granted. Simple lessons on nutrition and hygiene are greatly needed in the areas we are trying to reach.

This past week, the children in La Biblioteca de Cristo learned the basics of hand washing. I sat, observed, and listened to two nurses from the health clinic teach the children the importance of washing hands. Several of the children demonstrated for the others. It was an excellent lesson for the children. I look forward to other meetings by the health clinic in the future.
